  • What are the residency requirements to qualify for assistance with Canyon Cares?

    Canyon Cares serves those who have resided within Coal Creek Canyon, Nederland, Ward, and unincorporated Gilpin County for at least 12 months. Check the map on the Canyon Cares website - Get Help - | Neighbors Helping Neighbors - to view our complete service area.
  • What type of assistance can Canyon Cares offer?

    Canyon Cares provides short-term emergency assistance for expenses related to housing, utilities, food, vehicle repairs, firewood, propane, medical care, and more.
  • How does someone apply for assistance?

    Go to www.CanyonCares.org and complete the Apply for Assistance Form. A board member will contact you to discuss your needs and complete your application. The board will then review your application and notify you of the decision.

  • How is Canyon Cares funded?

    Canyon Cares is funded by a combination of grants, corporate gifts, and individual donations, with about half of our funding coming from individual contributions.
  • How can I support Canyon Cares with King Soopers Community Rewards ?

    Canyon Cares sells Coal Creek Canyon and Gilpin County license plate frames

    for $10. They are available for purchase at the Coal Creek Canyon Coffee Shop
